What Kleido is
Kleido is the working tool for automotive locksmiths. It covers roughly 3,700 automotive vehicle series with more than 1.6 million verified bitting codes, key blank cross-references, Lishi decoder matches, key cutting profiles with visual depth charts, and transponder information. Everything is built mobile-first so you can pull a code at a stop without fighting a desktop UI in the parking lot.
Who it's for
Mobile automotive locksmiths, lockout services, dealership key departments, and key duplication shops. Kleido replaces legacy code tools at a fraction of the price: $14.99/month against roughly $500/year, so a working locksmith doesn't have to choose between code data and overhead.
The name
The word Kleido comes from the Greek kleidos, meaning key, and from the title Kleidochos (key-bearer) given to the goddess Hecate.
How the data gets verified
Codes are sourced from the field, from our members, and from public information, then put through a manual verification pass before they're published. Each series page shows when it was last verified, and any locksmith who finds an inaccurate cut is one button away from reporting it. We act fast on user reports and treat code accuracy as our constant goal, actively refining and updating it.
Who built it
Kleido is built by a small team with a working locksmith on the data side and an engineering background on the software side. Every feature comes from real work on real keys. If it helps a locksmith in the field, it goes in the app. The roadmap is driven by what working locksmiths actually ask for.
What's coming
Native iOS and Android apps are in active development. Expanded Lishi tool coverage and broader key machine integrations are planned for the next few quarters. The web app you're reading about isn't going anywhere. It stays the canonical Kleido experience.
